A mold concern at your business: make a clear plan

For a business or managed property, the work plan must account for people, access, and responsibilities as well as the affected materials.

01

Document the concern and notify the right contact

Record the location, known leak history, and photographs from safe areas. Identify who can authorize access and work. Shared buildings may require coordination between the occupant, owner, and property manager.

02

Discuss operations before scheduling

Explain occupied rooms, customer access, deliveries, and any time restrictions. The scope determines which areas can stay in use; uninterrupted operations should not be assumed before assessment.

03

Keep the handover useful

Ask for a defined scope, documentation needs, and clear responsibility for moisture-source repairs. If reopening or a lease requirement involves independent verification, establish that at the start. Store the completed records with the building’s maintenance information.
